Careful Transport and High-Tech Monitoring

The Journey of a Dutch Renaissance painting, carefully monitored on it's way to a conservation workshop.

History on the Walls

The painting, which had adorned the walls of the medieval church, was carefully detached, marking the beginning of its journey. The conservators at NIKU were waiting eagerly to perform their magic on this masterpiece.

A Masterpiece in Transit: Precision and Care

Before the journey began, we took meticulous precautions to ensure the artwork's safety during transit. We placed a wireless sensor both inside and outside of the crate that held the painting. These sensors allowed us to monitor various environmental factors, including temperature, humidity, light exposure, vibration, and the artwork's precise location throughout the entire journey.

Ensuring Safe Passage: Art Conservation Meets Innovative Monitoring

This innovative step brings us closer to seamless monitoring of artworks, whether they're exhibited at a museum, in storage, or anywhere in between. With real-time data at our fingertips, we can ensure that these priceless treasures are handled with the utmost care and precision.

The painting being transported with the precision and care usually reserved for solemn processions.

The careful transport of this Dutch Renaissance painting not only preserves the artwork but also showcases the dedication and precision that goes into safeguarding our cultural heritage. At the heart of it all, it's about preserving the past for the future. We're excited to be a part of this journey and look forward to sharing more of these remarkable experiences with you in the future.

Stay tuned for more updates on our endeavors in the world of art logistics and conservation.
