Full-Stack Developer
Help protect the world's most iconic art and cultural heritage with cutting-edge IoT technology.
Bev/Art is building technology to make museum objects last forever. Our IoT platform monitors thousands of artworks and artifacts across Europe and beyond, translating streams of environmental data into actionable insight.
We're currently looking for a full-time, Oslo-based full-stack developer to help us scale our platform into a resilient, global system. This role reports to the CTO.
What you'll do
You'll help architect and build the backbone of Custodian, our proprietary platform that processes thousands of sensor events every second and powers tools used by conservators and other heritage professionals worldwide. This isn't about maintaining legacy systems - it's about designing for scale, reliability and performance from the ground up. You’ll work across the stack:
-
Defining and evolving the system architecture as we grow from thousands to tens of thousands of devices.
-
Building real-time pipelines that turn raw sensor data into insights with machine learning.
-
Designing APIs and backend services that balance simplicity with scalability.
-
Optimizing data storage and querying for speed and resilience.
-
Creating interfaces that make complex information usable and intuitive.

As an early member of the development and engineering team, you'll have the opportunity to influence the company's culture, technical stack and long-term product direction.
Who you are
You're a builder who thrives on turning complex, high-volume systems into something elegant and reliable. You've seen what works (and what breaks) in production at-scale and care about leaving things better than you found them.
You're likely a good fit if you:
-
Have 3-5 years of experience in a similar role (we care more about depth than titles)
-
Have built and scaled systems that handle real-world load
-
Move easily between backend, frontend and infrastructure, when needed
-
Value clear code, pragmatic solutions, and strong documentation
-
Are motivated by autonomy and ownership, but enjoy collaborating in a focused, small team
-
Are excited by IoT, real-time data, and the challenge of bridging the physical and digital worlds
-
Are based in Oslo and eager to work with us in person at our office on Bygdøy

What we offer
We’re still a small team, which means you’ll have significant influence, and your work will be highly visible. We offer:

-
Salary that reflects your experience, plus stock options.
-
Ownership in shaping the technical direction and engineering culture.
-
A workplace that values focus, autonomy, and craftsmanship over bureaucracy.
-
A unique office setting: a century-old gardener’s cottage on Bygdøy, surrounded by history and nature, with free parking and easy access by bus or bike. Gourmet lunches and coffee breaks in the apple garden included.
